Brief Church History
On Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 1985 a group of believers gathered together for the purpose of organizing a church. The name that was given to us by the Lord was "Berachah Baptist Church". The namd Berachah means "Blessing". During those early days we held services at several of the member’s homes, and then friends of the church who believed in our purpose allowed us to use space in their buildings for worship; the Warring House, Blood Covered Church of God, Manna Bible Institute, Philippian Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge on Champlost Street.
On Sunday, September 28, 1986 we held our Recognition Service at Philippian Baptist Church.
After major renovations the Official Dedication of our first permanent location at 2043 Eastburn Avenue, West Oak Lane, Philadelphia, PA was held on June 24, 1990.
After years of devoted service to the Lord and much prayer we were blessed to relocate to our current location at 6327 Limekiln Pike, West Oak Lane , Philadelphia, PA and on December 23, 2007, Christmas Sunday, our first Worship Service was held in our new Sanctuary.
We are truly “Inspired by Faith and Committed to Action.”
